If
you are running Windows 98 or Windows 98 Second Addition on your computer, it
is necessary to update your Microsoft MDAC files prior to using the Medi-Net
software for the first time. Windows 2000
systems already have the update installed.
The following instructions will step you through the process of
downloading and installing the Microsoft update file.
Make certain you have an active connection to the Internet, and then click on the following hyperlink. Your browser will bring up the appropriate Microsoft web page for the update.
http://www.microsoft.com/data/download_26sp1.htm
Select
the “English” version and click “Go to Download”.

Select
“Run this program from its current location”, and Click OK

The
update will begin downloading. As the
file is 7.5MB in size, slow Internet connections can require a considerable
amount of time to complete the download.
Click
“Yes, I will accept”, and click “Next”.

Click
“Next”.

You
should reboot the computer at this time.
Note:
If you reinstall Windows 98 or Windows 98 Second Edition, the MDAC will need to
be updated again.
